Goto Sukuru is a service that provides childcare and educational support for school-age children at a total of 15 locations in Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Chiba prefectures, operating under the philosophy of "fostering independence through learning and play. Currently, approximately 1,200 schoolchildren use the service, and 90% responded "very satisfied" in a parent satisfaction survey, indicating that the service is growing and gaining the trust of parents.
Personalized Learning and Instruction Methods
A "study coach" system has been introduced to provide guidance according to the academic level of each child. In addition to basic studies in Japanese, mathematics, and other subjects, the program supports "independent research" (scientific experiments, social surveys, etc.) based on interests and concerns. For example, schoolchildren who are not good at math can deepen their understanding using "math games related to daily life," while those who are good at Japanese can take part in "workshops for writing short stories. In the past, 70% of schoolchildren who received 6 months of instruction improved their school grades and "gained confidence in learning.
Effectiveness of diverse club activities
More than 10 different clubs have been established, including sports (soccer, basketball), arts (fine arts, musical instruments), languages (English conversation, reading), and science (robotics, experiments). In the Robot Club, students learn simple programming and have the opportunity to participate in contests, including winning the Tokyo School Children's Robot Contest in FY2023. Through the club activities, "teamwork" and "ability to achieve goals" of schoolchildren have improved, and many parents have commented that their children have become more proactive.
Enhancement of the system of cooperation with parents and guardians
Developed a "Growth Record App" to share the activities and learning progress of school children in real time. Once a month, a "Parents' Meeting" is held, where individual interviews with teachers are conducted. By distributing the "Home Study Support Guide," we support the development of a learning environment at home. The use of the application has increased parental satisfaction by 15% and has been well received by parents, who say it enables them to learn more about their children's progress.
